introducing lynx! and some thoughts.
Brain dump of thoughts after first week of puppy-parenthood. We brought home Lynx on Jan 12. She (like Max!) is from Minnesota, and I love women’s basketball, so Lynx felt like an appropriate name. She’s very cute, kind of fat, super sweet, and also extremely chaotic.
Things I’ve learned already:
I was so idealistic about how I’d raise and train a dog but it pretty much all goes out the window initially and it’s just about survival. She can be so incredibly sweet in one moment and then trying to behead us with her tiny teeth the next.
I don’t understand how people raise puppies on their own. Max and I are a great team, both work from home, and there’s still challenging moments.
I also don’t understand how people have puppies and go into an office to work full time.
Time goes quickly! She already looks bigger from photos we took a week ago.
Puppies try to eat their own poo. Also giardia poo smells terrible. More terrible than normal poo, which already smells. Groundbreaking realizations, I know.
I don’t understand how people crate trained dogs before home camera systems. Lynx loves her crate covered, so without it we’d have no idea what she’s up to (plus we can take cute sleeping photos)
